Sailing Seasons in St. Vincent and the Grenadines

St. Vincent and the Grenadines boast a tropical climate, making it a year-round destination. However, there are nuances that can significantly impact your experience. Many yachts from the Virgin Islands make their way down to the Grenadines to get out of the “hurricane belt” June-August and stay until late October. So if you plan ahead, we can arrange to have one of the US/BVI based yachts meet you in the Grenadines July-October!

High Season Bliss (December to May)

The best time to visit the Grenadines is generally during the dry season, which runs from December to May. This period offers pleasant weather with lower chances of rain and a lower risk of tropical storms or hurricanes.  Expect steady trade winds and clear skies, creating the perfect backdrop for exploring the Grenadines’ hidden gems.

Tranquil Shoulder Seasons (May to June and September to November)

For those seeking a balance between good weather and fewer crowds (with the possibility of more yacht options!), the shoulder seasons provide an ideal compromise. May to August and October to November offer tranquility, allowing you to enjoy the beauty of the islands without the peak-season hustle.

*CHARTER PRO-TIP* many yachts based in the Virgin Islands make their way south around these times, so, should you plan ahead, we can arrange to have one of the US/BVI based yachts (that are legally able) meet you in the Grenadines!

Rainy Season Reflections (July to August)

While July to August brings increased rainfall, it’s also the time when the islands come alive with lush greenery. If you don’t mind occasional showers and prefer a more intimate experience, the rainy season may be your hidden gem.
